W.H. Auden...

Auden had a wonderfully dry sense of humor, as evident in this remark about an assignment he took on in December 1964: "To record an obituary for someone and then have him die a month later - which happened to me in the case of T.S.Eliot - makes you feel as if you were in some way responsible."
