Libby Scheier...

As well as a very fine poet, Scheier was a fascinating, occasionally volatile woman. Story has it she nearly decapitated a lover with a brass platter flung Frisbee-style at his head. Of an unfaithful lover, she reportedly said "I shall not think of suicide. I prefer murder."

In the final year of her life, Scheier changed her name to Liba, in honour of her grandmother.
